350 March on the Occasion of International Day of Climate Action

International Day of Climate Action

1˚ Initiative - Nepal, proudly presents the 350 March on the occasion of International Day of Climate Action. This is a march in which youths from all over Kathmandu will be marching to promote the idea of 350ppm.1˚ Initiative - Nepal along with the YES! Club -Nepal is supporting the event and participating on the event.

It is the MOST important number today! For our body 37˚ is the most important number.Similarly, for the Earth, its 350ppm (part per million).If the level of CO2 in the atmosphere rises too much, the Earth will near its destruction.350ppm is the safe level of Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and we are currently standing at 387.5!!Even a fool would understand that we are at a dangerous condition, but the leaders from some of the so-called 'Developed' nations are ignoring it. We will march on 24th October to show solidarity amongst Nepalese people and push our voice to pressurize the UN to adopt the idea of 350ppm!! Students from different High Schools and Universities, officers from corporate houses, doctors from different hospitals, media personalities and journalists will be attending this event. If you're school/university/organization is not yet registered for the March, please do register below with your contact details. We need 2000 people and that's a huge number. We can only make our voices heard if all youths work in solidarity!

We also expect some of the WWF Ambassadors to speak on the issue of climate change which matters the most to us today!

SPEED UP- STAND UP 2009

In the year 2000, Leaders around the World came together and drafted 8 goals called the Millennium Development Goals, which aim to end poverty by 2015.The 8 goals, had specific yearly targets for every country to achieve. The Leaders didn't keep their promise and they fell short of these targets every year.

This campaign aims to call all citizens to Stand Up and Ask their Governments to KEEP Their PROMISE. To remind them of their Commitments to END POVERTY.

As time is running out, there is a urgent need to SPEED UP the Act. To SPEED UP, so that these targets are achieved.
